8:50-9:10 Theme discussion My Body Parts. Name and show all body parts.

  • Head/Body/Arms/legs
  • Learn a new song: Head,shoulders,knees and toes
  • Familiarise the learner with his/her body.
9:10-9:30 Literacy Teacher points to a body part and the learners need to say what each body part is.

 

To introduce each child.
9:30-10:30 Numeracy Mental maths: Teacher uses flash cards of the different colours. Learners name the colours. Let the learners group themselves according to the colour of the clothes they are wearing.

Let learners sit opposite each other. Let them count how many noses,mouths,hands etc. everyone has.

Learn colours and hand eye coordination.
10:45-11:30 Play outside Activity 1: Learners hop in a hopping bag from start to cone.

Activity 2: Throw a bean bag to your friend.

Balance
11:30-12:00 Creative Teacher traces the body of one of the learners the others colour it in.

Holiday ideas for 2-3 year olds

  • Use playdough and make shapes and other interesting objects.
    • Recipe for playdough:
      • 2 cups of flower
      • 1/2 cup salt
      • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
      • 1/2 cup water
      • food colouring
      • mix all the ingredients together and start playing!
  • Make handprints on a piece of paper. This can be put in a scrapbook or given as a gift to grandma.
  • Fingerpainting and free drawing is very good for fine motor development. Give your child some crayons and a piece of paper and allow her to draw freely.
